Outpatient Therapies at Kernan Hospital
Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) for the Lower Extremity and the NESS L300™
Kernan Hospital provides Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) for the lower extremity using the NESS L300™ in the Outpatient Neuro and Ortho Physical Therapy, as well as Inpatient CVA Programs. Using breakthrough technology, the L300™ provides a means to treat drop foot weakness from a variety of conditions such as stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and cerebral palsy. The patient's physical therapist determines the appropriateness of using the L300™ after completing a thorough patient evaluation and confirming patient goals.
We have easy access to the building, with curbside drop-off and extra wheelchairs
available for use at the front entrance. Please note that we
require a physician’s referral and insurance authorization for this
program.
