The orthopaedic programs are supported by patient evaluation and education classes before and after surgery by a talented group of orthopaedic specialty nurses and rehabilitation therapists. Every patient is followed by a pain management nurse to ensure patients are comfortable enough to engage in rehabilitation therapy necessary for optimum recovery. We have dedicated operating room teams thoroughly trained in orthopaedic procedures, led by an experienced orthopaedic surgical staff. The Intensive Care Unit at Kernan Hospital offers patients who require additional observation access to a critical care management team.
The treatment team consists of experts trained in the post-surgical management of higher acuity orthopaedic patients with the capabilities to safely initiate rehabilitation during the patient's intensive care visit.
Patients are cared for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by a team of intensivist physicians, supported by critical care physicians and nurses with the support of experienced respiratory therapists.
